此文章描述的是现实世界中的事物，而非猫武士世界中的设定。
第一季〈幼崽补全计划〉中主要涉及了出现在首部曲中的猫。后来，在2017年2月9日，维琪在她的Facebook状态后面放出了第二季〈幼崽补全计划〉的猫物列表，不过后来她将这个列表移除，[2]因为“这个列表会让帖子过分地冗长，而Susi会在之后逐日发表这些猫的、更清晰的详细信息”。[3]
根据之前在猫武士维基（英语）上的讨论和投票结果，Su的言行将被作为官方言论处理，因此〈幼崽补全计划〉将作为对正传的补充而存在。但有部分读者认为Su将某些猫放入黑森林的行为“令人困惑”，[4]也有部分读者对Su在此计划中确定的血缘关系表示疑惑甚至不满。[5]
然而，在2019年年初，新改版的官方网站WarriorCats.com上，释出了一张巨大的家谱图。部分角色的名字、亲缘和外貌与〈幼崽补全计划〉相符，间接显示该家谱图对〈幼崽补全计划〉的认可。[6]在2021年3月，包含〈幼崽补全计划〉在内，所有Su所提供的信息都被猫武士维基（英语）放入角色的趣闻中，其定位和《荒野手册》相同，属于非官方的参考资料。[7]
