Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a facination with the ferocity of the natural world. In addition to having great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behaviour.^[1]^:作者页

她们轮流撰写《猫武士》系列小说，并由维琪统稿。^[3]通過使用同一筆名，来避免同一系列的书籍有不同的作者，減少对读者造成困惑的可能。除了《猫武士》系列外，她們的其他作品还包含《狗武士》《熊武士》、《勇士之地》以及《熊猫勇士》等。

命名

在一次访谈中，維多利亞·霍姆斯提到^[4]

我们希望这些书在架上能被放在布莱恩·雅克（Brian Jacques）的红墙（Redwall）系列附近，因为它也是动物的奇幻系列。所以我们需要一个开头是H、I或K的姓氏，而“Hunter”（猎人）似乎和我们凶残的猫群们相当匹配（另外它也接近H尾巴）。至于名字的部分，我就只是单纯的很喜欢Erin，而且它也符合我所想象的作者的凯尔特特质。

吉莉安·菲利普

吉莉安·菲利普（英Gillian Phillip）是艾琳·亨特的新成员，负责撰写《熊武士》－一个和《猫武士》完全无关的系列。^[5]她和丈夫、两个孩子及三只狗住在北苏格兰。除了目前属于她自己的著作以外，她也为Hothouse和Working Partners捉刀代笔。^[6]2020年6月，由于她在Twitter上发表的争议性言论，她已不再与艾琳·亨特团队合作。
